Dynatrace Redis Monitor pluggin monitor basic metrics return from redis-cli info.

The pluggin monitor these metrics :

  • clients\connected_clients
  • keyspage\keys (number of keys set in all redis DB)
  • memory\used_memory
  • memory\used_memory_peak
  • persistence\rdb_bgsave_in_progress
  • persistence\rdb_changes_since_last_save
  • persistence\rdb_last_bgsave_time_sec
  • replication\connected_slaves
  • replication\master_last_io_seconds_ago
  • replication\master_sync_in_progress
  • stats\instantaneous_ops_per_sec

I don't monitor keyspace_hits/keyspace_misses as this metric is not in real time but since the redis start. (So not really usefull)

Import the Plugin into the dynaTrace Server via the dynaTrace Server Settings menu -> Plugins -> Install Plugin. For details how to do this please refer to the Dynatrace documentation.

By default the pluggin monitor the redis default port : 6379

You can set up an auth key if you need one

Exemple of Dashboard we use for monitoring :

  1. is the auth key refers to AUTH password?

    1. Yep. You are right.

If you don't set up a key it won't be used for connecting to redis.

  2. i imported the plugin in DT 6.2, but unable to find the metrics in measures. Am i missing any other config ?

  3. And also After importing, i'm unable to view redis monitor plugin under Manage plugins list, if i try to import again, it says it exists and i'm able to view the properties, but if i close manage plugins window and reopen it, it doesn't show up.

  4. The plugin has been developed for Dynatrace 6.3. Even though it should work with lower versions chances are that this could explain your problem. Any chance you can try this on DT 6.3?

  5. Thanks Andreas for the response. Actually, i made it work by using plugin development and rebuild it and updated the port number, Now i'm able to get the metrics using monitors.
