CAS ► Tools ► Diagnostics ► CAS capacity

Use the Capacity status report to monitor the performance of the report server. Accessing this menu requires administrative rights.

The following graphs are provided:

  • Memory utilization - shows the percentage of used memory during a predefined period of time, in comparison with the predefined memory threshold. By default, the memory threshold is set to 80%, and if it is exceeded, a memory alert is raised.

  • Number of sessions - shows how many sessions are stored in the server cache memory.

  • Average data file processing time - shows the average data file processing time versus the predefined threshold during the last 24 hours, and whether the long processing time alert was raised. By default, the threshold for data processing time is set to 60% of the monitoring interval.

  • The Nightly tasks execution time section shows how long (on average for a selected period of time) it took to execute three tasks:

    Daily Report Generation

Data aggregation, calculation of trends and baselines, pre-defined DMI reports, and processing other data required for rendering reports.

Data aging, cleaning caches, database daily maintenance of sites, domains, and finding new sites and servers to monitor.

Closing the current day before storing performance data for the start of the next day.

The Nightly Tasks Execution Time graph also shows whether the execution time for any of the above tasks exceeded the predefined timeout, raising the long execution time alert.

  • Business units - shows the number of defined tiers, reporting groups and applications in each reported period.

  • Business units associations - shows the number of associations between the business units and sessions as defined by a combination client, server and URL.

In this report, as with any report that is based on DMI, you can modify the data resolution on the report or the time period for which the data is displayed. For more information, see Selecting Time Range and Resolution.

Task Scheduler Status dimensions

Command name (id: taskCmd)

The name of the process or procedure in a scheduled task.

Data source (id: dataProd)

The name of the data source in case you have configured a number of associated report servers to be used as data sources on the DMI screen.

Show on status (id: showOnStatus)

Indicates whether the information is shown on the system status report.

Task id (id: taskId)

A unique identifier of a scheduled task.

Task name (id: taskName)

The name of a scheduled task.

Task successfully executed (id: taskStatus)

An indicator that may take on two values: "true" or "false"; shows whether or not the task processing time exceeded the predefined threshold.

Time (id: begT)

The task execution start time.

Task Scheduler Status metrics

Average execution time

The average time during which the tasks were executed.

Command timeout

The timeout of a specific process in a scheduled task.

Long execution time alert (max)

The alert raised if the task average execution time exceeds the predefined threshold (timeout).

Maximum execution time

The maximum task execution time observed within a selected period of time.

Minimum execution time

The minimum task execution time observed within a selected period of time.

The threshold for a task execution time.
